MEF Flute Ensemble
performs for
Christopher Caliendo
On Saturday, March 31, 2007, the Arizona Flute Society hosted California composer and guitarist Christopher Caliendo in a day-long workshop. Chamber groups, flute ensembles, and flute choirs from the Phoenix-metro area performed original Caliendo compositions for the composer. After each performance, Caliendo worked with each group providing insight and details about the interpretation of his music.
The MEF Flute Ensemble performed Caliendo's La Primavera ("Spring") in the afternoon workshop featuring the larger flute ensembles.

The event concluded with a recital of Caliendo's compositions for flute and guitar. Performing with Caliendo were Brian Luce, Flute Professor at the University of Arizona, and Sherry Finzer and Tina Beaton of NRG!Duo.
